ADD/ADHD MANAGEMENT

Although medication is a common form of management for ADD/ADHD, alone, it does not deal with the life-long management of living with ADD/ADHD. In remedial counselling for individuals with ADD/ADHD, the learner is taught to manage his/her condition, and various Cognitive Behavioral methods are used to develop the skills and behavioural competencies required for an ADD/ADHD suffering learner to achieve optimal functioning in both academic domains as well as everyday life scenarios. ADD/ADHD is frequently accompanied by behavioural difficulties such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder or other behavioural concerns, and these are also addressed by Cognitive Behavioral Counselling. ADHD management involves the development of skills and tools to achieve the individuals full potential.
